Whispers in the Shadow - Biografia - Discografia

Whispers in the Shadow é uma banda de Gothic Rock da Áustria, formada em 1996. O bandname é inspirada na história do Whisperer in Darkness por HPLovecraft. As letras abordam principalmente oculto e conceitos misticos.
Whispers in the Shadow foi formada como um projeto solo por convidaram Ashley (vocal, guitarra, também conhecido como guitarrista da L'Âme Immortelle & Veneno Para Las Hadas) em 1996.
Eles logo se desenvolveram numa linha completa e lançaram o primeiro álbum intitulado "Laudanum", em 1997, seguido do segundo álbum, "November", em 1999. Estes dois primeiros registros foram muito influenciadas pelo som das primeiras gravações dos The Cure como "pornografhy".
Em 2000 eles lançaram o terceiro álbum "A Taste of Decay", que foi uma partida para um som mais rock , apenas um ano mais tarde, "Permanent Illusions ", que foi ainda mais longe das origens Gothic Rock desta banda.Bandas de Psychedelic e de rock progressivo como Pink Floyd, tinham uma influncia importante sobre o som deste registo.
Depois de tocarem por toda a Europa, em 2001, eles lançaram o primeiro álbum ao vivo chamado "Everything you knew was wrong", em 2003, mas as varias mudanças no line-up os forçou a fazer uma pausa.
Whispers in the Shadow retornaram em 2007 com o cd ao vivo "A Cold Night", seguido do relançamentos dos dois primeiros álbuns "Laudanum" e "November", remasterizada com coverartwork novas e faixas bônus inéditas.
