The Garden Of Delight - Biografia - Discografia

Quando se fala em Garden of Delight não se pode só falar em música mas também, obrigatoriamente, numa espécie de doutrina. Ao longo do tempo esta banda alemã, que surgiu em 1990, habituou-nos a um conceito mágico, baseado nas reflexões de inspiração mitológica do líder (highpriest - ?) Artaud Seth, aliado ao som mais obscuro e epicamente negro (os primeiros discos mostram uma grande influência de bandas como Sisters of Mercy e Fields of the Nephilim, por exemplo).
Artaud Seth é um ocultista. Os discos da banda são repletos de referências sombrias a deuses antigos, há muito esquecidos pela humanidade. Divindades sumérias como Enki ou o próprio logo da banda que faz referência a um dos nomes de Marduk, um dos filhos de Enki, demonstram as influências que faz brotar toda a criatividade de Artaud e certamente, toda a sua crença pessoal.
Desde o início da sua atividade, a banda é envolta num ambiente todo obscuro e de mistério, a começar pelas composições, letras, capas de disco etc. Prova disso é o facto de já terem começado a sua carreira com um curioso feito: o ciclo 777 (sete albuns, em sete anos, com sete musicas cada), que foi de 1991 a 1997 e que estranhamente contou com a participação de nada mais, nada menos que Adrian Hates, vocalista dos Diary Of Dreams, tocando baixo em todoo os discos até o fim do ciclo.
A banda tem uma colecçao interminavel de discos e é sem duvida alguma uma das melhores bandas de gothic rock de sempre.
