Mighty Sphincter foi uma banda de Goth/Punk/Deathrock dos USA.
Eles foram a banda punk louco de Phoenix, Arizona. Eles misturavam partes iguais de punk e metal na sua confecção deathrock estranho, jamais repetido até hoje, e contou com algumas das letras mais bizarras já escritas, obcecados com a violência, horror e muitas referências homossexuais, mas ainda com um grande senso de humor(subjacente a todas as doenças). As primeiras versões que ouvi, o "Fag Bar" E.P. (1984)
e do Espírito "Walking" E.P. (1985) foram verdadeiramente escandalosas e incrivelmente bem tocado shock rock/death rock/punk com os vocais de Ron Reckless ultrajante.Em 1986 "The New Manson Family" com um som ainda mais gótico, , desta vez com vocais do guitarrista Doug Clark.A "In the Kingdom of Heaven"finalmente encontrou o lp em 2002.
