Written In Ashes é uma banda de gothic rock/darkwave, de Portland, Oregon fundada em 1996 por Kevyn Douglas Hay.A Sua combinação distinta de bateria, guitarra, baixo, sintetizadores e tem impressionado o público, tanto em gravações como nos seus energéticos concertos ao vivo.
O álbum de estréia auto-lançado "Eternal" foi lançado em 1997 e aclamado como "O novo som do gótico." Em 1999, a banda lançou "Eclipse", seguido por "Epiphany", em 2000. O seu álbum auto-intitulado "Written In Ashes", foi lançado em 2003,na Latex Records. Eles apareceram em muitas compilações, incluindo "Cleopatra Records’ “Unquiet Grave, Volume I,” Ankhor Records’ Alice Cooper tribute “Mutations” and Livid Look Glass’ “Compilation, No. 1.”
