Deathstars - Biografia - Discografia

Death Stars é uma banda sueca de gothic/industrial metal que nasceu em Janeiro de 2000 como uma nova versão da banda de heavy metal Swordmaster, criada em 1993. Deathstars contava então com o baterista Ole Öhman (Dissection), os guitarristas Emil Nodtveidt (Nightmare Industries) e Erik Halvorsen (Beast X Electric) e com o vocalista Andreas Bergh. Esta formação gravou, em 2002, o álbum Synthetic Generation.
A banda tinha planejado começar a gravar o segundo álbum em Junho de 2002, mas ao voltarem de Leipzig, Alemanha, onde participaram no Wave Gotik Treffen, o autocarro com o equipamento foi roubado, causando graves prejuízos á banda.
Em 2005 iniciaram as gravações de Termination Bliss, que foi apresentado em Janeiro do ano seguinte. Em Agosto Erik Halvorsen deixa a banda, devido a falta de entusiasmo. Ainda nesse ano partem em tour com os Cradle of Filth. Eric Bäckman (aka Cat Casino) foi apresentado aos fans em Setembro, como substituto de Erik Halvorsen.
Em Setembro de 2007 é anunciado no site da banda que vão abrir os concertos dos Korn, durante Janeiro e Fevereiro de 2008. Bone W Machine não participou nesta tour devido a razões pessoais.
A 29 de Outubro de 2007 Deathstars começaram a gravar o álbum Night Electric Night, lançado oficialmente em 30 de Janeiro de 2009.
