Christian Death - Biografia - Discografia

Christian Death, banda de death rock, formada em 1979, em Los Angeles, na Califórnia.
Depois de ter tocado nalgumas bandas de Los Angeles, o vocalista Rozz Williams fundou a banda Christian Death, em Outubro de 1979, quando tinha apenas 16 anos. James McGearty (baixo), George Belanger (bateria) e Jay (guitarra) juntaram-se a Rozz. Em 1980 apareceram pela primeira vez em público.
No Verão de 1981, após um breve hiatus, a banda apresenta um novo membro: Rikk Agnew, guitarrista da banda The Adolescents, substitui Jay.

A banda tem uma discografia enorme e de grande qualidade,que só esta ao alcance das melhores,muitas bandas nas seguintes decadas e ainda hoje,imitam o seu som,é a grande impulsionadora do Deathrock.
Em meados de 1985, Rozz Williams deixou a banda que ele fundou, em parte devido ao seu crescente interesse na música experimental e arte de performance surrealista. Valor Kand assumiu a liderança dos Christian Death, agora atuando como vocalista e compositor. Alegadamente, Kand e Williams haviam concordado em mudar o nome da banda existente para "Sin and Sacrifice", Williams, entretanto teve alguns projectos secundários como Premature Ejaculation, Heltir e Shadow Project (a última com sua esposa Eva O.).
Em 1 de abril de 1998, quando aos 34 anos Rozz Williams se enforcou no seu apartamento em West Hollywood. Ele foi velado por um culto dedicado de fãs, e mesmo Valor Kand pos de lado a sua animosidade anterior para dedicar esse ano o album "Pornographic Messiah" a Williams, indo tão longe ao ponto de tirar algumas das influências mais experimentais de Rozz Williams.
