The Vanishing - Biografia - Discografia

The Vanishing trio de Post/Goth de San Francisco,USA,começou quando o baixista/vocalista Jessie e o baterista Brian deixou a sua banda anterior, "The Knives", a fim de fazer o que eles chamavam de "sci-fi disco de horror". A dupla recrutou o teclista Sadie Shaw, dos "Lies and the Husbands", para aperfeiçoar a formação da banda. No verão de 2002 eles lançaram o seu primeiro EP, In the Bat Haus, em Cochon Records. O EP apresenta a sua musica gelada ainda obscuramente humorística sobre gótico e pós-punk, que foi definida por Jessie (também ex-membro da "Subtonix". Naquele outono, Shaw deixou a banda para prosseguir com os "Lies and the Husbands", em tempo integral , mas não antes de ajudar gravar o álbum de estréia, "Songs for Psychotic Children", que foi lançado na Primavera de 2003. Depois partiu Shaw,é recrutado Billy de Zonetech para preencher funções de teclado e baixo. A banda lançou um EP split com Sixteens o ano seguinte.
Em 2004 sai o album" Still Lifes Are Failing"
